All courses are taught in English.

1.1 Scholarships

The Italian Ministry for the University and the Scientific and Technological Research (MURST) and the University of Turin concede four scholarships, the University of Eastern Piedmont provides one scholarship and other two scholarships are provided by the Collegio Carlo Alberto and the Compagnia di san Paolo. Three other students are admitted without scholarships.

Foreign citizens with a four-year degree in economics can apply for the program (see announcement of competition, www.rettorato.unito.it). 1.4 Didactic activities

In the first year the steering committee chooses a different curriculum for each student according to his/her previous preparation.

The students are generally requested to attend some post-graduate courses at Coripe (macroeconomics, monetary economics, international economics, applied econometrics, economics of the European Union, etc.) and some other special courses and seminars. The courses are taught in English. It is a full time engagement, with compulsary attendance. After June the students begin to work under the direction of one or two supervisors completing their general preparation.

In the second year they either take post-graduate programmes abroad finalizing their study towards the topics of their doctoral thesis, or, residing in Turin, they deepen their preparation in the field of European economics under the direction of their supervisors. In the third year they write their doctoral thesis presenting two progress reports and the final results of their research during the preparation of their dissertation.
